Section 8 is honored to nominate Jessica Mariani for Transportation Professional of the Year. Jessica began her career by receiving a BS in Civil Engineering in 2006, her PE in New York in 2012, and her PE in New Jersey in 2014. While in college Jessica worked for Advanced Testing Company and McGoey Hauser & Edsall as an Engineering Intern securing new contracts, scheduling services, and performing drafting tasks. Additionally, during her college years, Jessica tutored math at various levels, including differential equations and calculus.
Jessica joined NYSATE as soon as she could in 2006 and has been an active member since. She has participated in countless events, including Mini Conferences, Technical Seminars (in our region and others), TPOY Dinner Events, Annual Day of Golf, State of The Region events, Annual Conferences. She has always found NYSATE events to be informative, enjoyable, and valuable.
As Vice President of NYSATE Section 8, Jessica has organized/planned NYSATE Section 8 TPOY Dinners in 2022, 2023 & 2024. Jessica has also organized /planned NYSATE Section 8 State of the Region Events in 2022 (Virtual – set up the TEAMS event, recorded and distributed), 2023 & 2024. Jessica has also organized/planned NYSATE Section 8 Mini Conference in 2022 & 2023, each with over 100 attendees.
Jessica has been a member of ACEC since 2015 holding positions as a Board Member, Regional Chair, State Board Member. She has served on the PAC Committee; Membership Committee, Design-Build Committee, and Engineering Excellence Committee. In addition, she will be the co-chair/MC of the 2024 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala in NYC with over 600 people in attendance. Jessica has also organized the ACEC Golf Fund Raiser, which raises money for the State Scholarship Fund.
Jessica lives in Cornwall NY (where she grew up) and is married for 15 years to her husband Anthony. Together they have 3 children: ages 14, 12, and 8 and a 2 year old Doberman, Bronx.
In her down time, Jessica coaches Little League, soccer and Ski Racing. She is involved with many local organizations such as charity run/walks, her church events, mentoring middle and high school events, the Ambulance Corp and volunteered at ground zero in 2001.
