Holiday Greeting Card & Scholarship Fundraiser Do you know what the Bragg Award is or who it was named after? Frederick E. Bragg worked for the DOT for almost 25 years. He was the Vice President and State Director for Section 2, Utica. Fred was known for his love of all children, including his own, and he strived hard to see that kids had all they needed to keep busy, out of trouble, and to further themselves. He was known for his ability to get fundraisers off the ground, wherever and whenever money or equipment was needed for children's sports programs. At the time of his death, in 1982 at the young age of 45, the State Board of Directors was setting up the Scholarship Program. Because Fred championed the cause, the highest honor was named for him. Each year, each Section of NYSATE gives out the Frederick E. Bragg Memorial Scholarship Award in memory of a great man who cared so much about the future…our children! In addition to the Bragg Scholarship Award, up to ten additional College scholarships will be given out to NYSATE Section 10 member's dependents for the 2025 scholarship year to be used by the recipient at an accredited school. The recipient of the Bragg Scholarship must be a student of Engineering or Transportation related studies Funds will be paid directly to the individual for payment of tuition or other bona fide school charges. NYSATE Section 10 annual fundraising event for the scholarship will be through our Holiday Card. Each person who donates will have their name in our Annual Holiday Card which is distributed to all members and employees in Region’s 10, 11, and NYMTC. All donations go to the Section 10 Scholarship fund. Please help this worthy cause and send good cheer to your co-workers by donating. No amount is too small. |
